In March, Dad and Hayden flew our
airplane up to Kansas City to sell it to some people from Montana who had
flown in to pick it up. It was a very sad day and Dad and Hayden
returned with very long faces. The man was going to use the
plane to build time toward his goal of flying for the airlines. Our
airplane was perfect for that since it had almost a new engine, very nice
radios and was in real good condition. Dad is really sad since he
hasn't touched an airplane since. Hopefully 2000 will see dad taking
me and Hayden on rides and maybe even take some trips to some really neat
places.
Hayden is probably the most sad. He really misses the weekend
flights with Dad to nearby airports for touch-and-go's and Cokes.
His nick-name is 'Roller-Coaster Hayden' due to the wild rides he would
give dad while flying. Dad says he even got pretty good at some
pretty basic flying techniques like takeoffs, turns and even helped on
landings. Hayden's great sense of direction should make him a great
pilot someday. At the airport, Hayden can usually name 50-75% of all
of the airplanes parked on the ramp or taxiing by. Not too bad for a
5 year old. Enroute to several local destinations, Hayden could pick
out and name most of the towns and landmarks.

R.B. poses with the new owner and his
daughter. They flew the plane back to Montana that day.
A long trip in a plane that only averages 100 mph and had several
mountains to climb over. Hayden was over admiring a Bonanza
that he had set his sights on during an earlier picture.
Someday, Hayden. |
| Zachary gets his one and only ride in the airplane a
week before we sold it. That day, R.B. took Graham and
Stephanie Rempel on their first 'small' airplane ride also. |

R.B. was already working up schemes for his next plane
as he prepared to hand over the keys to this one. Hayden
approved of this one. Sherri wasn't quite sure it would be
fast enough. |
